Zsombor Zapletán (born 24 April 1985 in Senta) is a Hungarian 9-pins player, world champion, and member of the Szegedi TE team. In 2022, he was named Hungarian Nine-pin Bowler of the Year.

Early life
editHe was born in Senta, Serbia, a small town where he got to know nine-pin bowling at the age of 11 or 12. His first club was TSC Senta, where he learned the basics of the sport and matured into an adult player.
Career
editThroughout his career, he has played for many clubs in Hungary and abroad. After TSC Senta, he transferred to Szegedi TE, where he played for several years. He then moved to the Italian club KK Neumarkt, where he formed a Hungarian trio with Tamás Kiss and Gábor Kovács. After his international years, he joined Répcelaki SE, then the Budapest-based Ferencvárosi TC, and since 2020 he has again played for Szegedi TE.
In 2016, he won the NBC Cup with his team, where several Hungarian teams also participated. In 2007 and 2013, he became a team world champion with the Hungarian national team.
He was Hungarian individual and combined champion in 2012, 2020, and 2021, and Hungarian sprint champion in 2013, 2014, and 2020.
He was chosen as the Hungarian Nine-pin Bowling Player of the Year in 2021, 2022, and 2024.
